Neck and back rehabilitation
How are neck and back injuries treated?
Injuries to the neck and back can range from simple overuse muscle strains to more complex disruption of a disc. A thorough initial examination of the joint movement, muscle tone and spinal alignment as well as careful subjective history taking can help determine cause and conclude an appropriate course of action.
Persistent ongoing pains which present with computer work or driving for example may be positional or postural in nature. A thorough ergonomics assessment of the work station or body position must be explored.
Specific to injuries of the neck and back, common treatments may include specific unloading of the spine or spinal segments (traction).
